This has been passed down in my family over several generations. This is a
very moist dressing.
1 recipe cornbread(omit sugar)
1- 10 count refrigerated biscuits,baked
1 small to medium onion
1 14 oz.can chicken broth
4 Tbl.butter
sage to taste
salt and pepper
boiling water
Process 1/4 cornbread, several biscuits and quarter of onion.Empty in large bowl;repeat until all is processed.Heat chicken broth.
Place butter on top of mixtur;Add salt, pepper, sage.Pour broth over top.Mix and add enough boiling water to make a moist dressing.
Spoon into a 9"square casserole, being careful not to packed down.
Bake in a 350 degree oven until warm.
My Mother and I always enjoyed tasting to see if we needed more sage or salt
Of course, you can add your own ingredients...sauted celery, apple, nuts, etc.
Personally, I like just like it is!
