My Aunt Julia would always make this for Thanksgivings.This dish is an excellent replacement for macaroni and cheese pie,very light and delicous.
10 slices bread- sunbeam thin sliced.
1/2 lb.grated extra sharp cheese
2 cups milk
3 beaten eggs
1 tsp salt
pinch red pepper
Lightly butter bread with soften butter.Cube each piece.
Put half in a greased 9inch square dish, cover with half of the cheese. Repeat.
Mix milk and eggs.Add salt and pepper.
Cover and refrigerate over night.
Bake in a 275 for 45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.Enjoy!
